BLACK DAY is a series of three live games that have a lot to offer: Enter a creepy house with us, escape the insidious traps of a maniacal school, or become an influencer in a jungle of dodgy products. We take the players into a world that mixes the elements of board games, adventure, media art and graphic novel.
Standby is the motto of this game in which nobody can be sure. Are you spectator or player? The roles are swapped quickly! Players roll the dice for their lives and together with the audience they do quiz games, polls and challenges.
This ‚Battle Royal‘ of a different kind was developed by students of Neue Mittelschule Lehen in collaboration with media artists Sonja Prlić and Karl Zechenter and Iwan Pasuchin, a researcher in media and cultural education. BLACK DAY is part of the research project SCHNITT # STELLEN – a cooperation of MediaLab, University Mozarteum Salzburg and artist group gold extra. Artists and high school students work together equally as peers on projects exploring the interplay and synergy potentials of media art and everyday media-cultural experiences of young people.
SCHNITT # STELLEN was awarded the European Youth Culture Award 2019. Funded by Land Salzburg and Stadt Salzburg
